Cartagena

City of Heroes

The site of the continent's first Spanish colony, Cartagena retains much of its colonial flavor thanks to a World Heritage-listed old town, encircled by old walls and protected by imposing fortresses.
Popular historic sites such as Walled City of Cartagena and Torre del Reloj are in your itinerary. Museo del Oro Zenu and Caribe Jewelry Museum & Factory will appeal to museum buffs. Step out of Cartagena to go to Isla Baru and see Playa Blanca, which is approximately 1h 5 min away. Spend the 19th (Tue) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. There's much more to do: don't miss a visit to Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Sanctuary of Saint Peter Claver, take in the spiritual surroundings of Convent of Santa Cruz de la Popa, and examine the collection at Choco Museo.
