Often referred to as Iceland's second city, Akureyri offers an array of cultural attractions in a scenic setting.
Take a break from the city and head to Dolphin & Whale Watching and Hverir. Do your shopping at Brunir Horse and Flora, Akureyri. Go for a jaunt from Akureyri to Husavik to see The Húsavík Whale Museum about 1h 10 min away. There's much more to do: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Namafjall (Namaskard), look for all kinds of wild species at Krafla Lava Fields, and admire the sheer force of Godafoss.
