Formerly a sleepy fishing village, the beach resort town of Kuta now represents one of Indonesia's most popular tourist destinations.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Kuta Beach - Bali and Balangan Beach. Escape the urban bustle at Pantai Sanur and Pandawa Beach. Venture out of the city with trips to Ubud (Neka Art Museum, Saraswati Temple, &more), Balian Beach (in Tabanan) and Canggu (Canggu Beach & Pantai Batu Mejan (Echo Beach)). Spend the 21st (Mon) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Next up on the itinerary: make a trip to Tegalalang Rice Terrace, see majestic marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour, cool off at Waterbom Bali, and let the river carry you with a rafting and tubing tour.

Salt Lake City, USA to Kuta is an approximately 25-hour flight. The time zone difference moving from Mountain Standard Time to Central Indonesia Time is 15 hours. In January, Kuta is much hotter than Salt Lake City - with highs of 87°F and lows of 76°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Wed) so you can drive to Amed.

A snaking coastline and quaint, sleepy fishing villages characterize Amed, a stretch of shorefront with seven villages in Bali's east.
Visiting Scuba & Snorkeling and Lipah Beach will get you outdoors. Visit Jemeluk Beach and Tulamben Beach for some beach relaxation. Venture out of the city with trips to Candidasa (Guungan Hill, Lotus Lagoon, &more), Manggis (Taru Agro Tourism, Blue Lagoon Beach, &more) and Tenganan Ancient Village (in Tenganan). There's much more to do: enjoy the sand and surf at White Sand Beach Yoga, tour the pleasant surroundings at Virgin Beach, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Besakih Temple, and take in the awesome beauty at Mount Agung.

You can drive from Kuta to Amed in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Expect a daytime high around 87°F in January, and nighttime lows around 75°F. On the 19th (Tue), you're off to Tegalalang.

The most famous Tegalalang tourist attractions are rice terraces, forming a landscape you'll be hard-pressed to find elsewhere in the world.
We've included these beaches for you: Lovina Beach and Keramas Beach. Step out of the city life by going to Mason Elephant Park and Bali Paradise Cycling Tours. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Tegalalang: Aling-Aling Waterfall (in Sambangan), Kintamani (Kintamani Highland, Lake Batur (Danau Batur), &more) and Sayap Bali Tour Travel (in Klungkung). There's lots more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Tirta Empul Temple, admire the landmark architecture of Penglipuran, explore and take pictures at Taman Nusa, and kick back and relax at Saba Beach.

Traveling by car from Amed to Tegalalang takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and taxi. In February in Tegalalang, expect temperatures between 87°F during the day and 76°F at night. On the 5th (Tue), you'll travel back home.
