Jewel of the Mediterranean

Barcelona, the country’s second-largest city, is a cosmopolitan urban center known for its throbbing youthful energy and stellar architecture.
Get a sense of the local culture at Basilica of the Sagrada Familia and Casa Mila - La Pedrera. Take a break from the city and head to Fenals Beach and Llevant Beach. Venture out of the city with trips to Illuminated Fountain (in Salou), El Lloro (in Tarragona) and La Boella (in La Canonja). Spend the 12th (Thu) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. The adventure continues: admire the striking features of Casa Batllo, kick back and relax at Playa de la Pineda, wander the streets of Passeig de Gracia, and look for gifts at Casa Gispert.

To find ratings, photos, other places to visit, and more tourist information, use the Barcelona travel route planner.

If you are flying in from Brazil, the closest major aiports are Barcelona International Airport, Girona Airport and Reus Air Base. In July, daytime highs in Barcelona are 34°C, while nighttime lows are 25°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Mon) so you can travel back home.
