Pearl of the Danube
You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.Take a break from the city and head to Nagyvillam Ski Slope and Margaret Island. Discover out-of-the-way places like Esztergom Basilica / Cathedral and Nemzeti Botanikus Kert. Get out of town with these interesting Budapest side-trips: Ipolytarnoci Osmaradvanyok Termeszetvedelmi Terulet (in Ipolytarnoc), Nosztalgia muzeum (in Szecseny) and Szentendre (Mikrocsodak Muzeuma, Transportation Museum, &more). There's still lots to do: take an in-depth tour of Hospital in the Rock Nuclear Bunker Museum, head outdoors with Kozmary Kilato, look for all kinds of wild species at Fenyes Education Trail of Tata, and Head underground at Valley of the Beautiful Women.
