Formerly a sleepy fishing village, the beach resort town of Kuta now represents one of Indonesia's most popular tourist destinations.Tanah Lot Temple and Mount Kawi are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Kuta Beach - Bali and Balangan Beach. Get out of town with these interesting Kuta side-trips: Ungasan (Melasti Beach, Green Bowl Beach, &more), Jimbaran Hills Activity Valley (in Jimbaran) and Remen White Sand Beach (in Tuban). Spend the 9th (Wed) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. There's still lots to do: cool off at Waterbom Bali, take in the spiritual surroundings of Taman Ayun Temple, admire the masterpieces at Museum PASIFIKA, and kick back and relax at Suluban Beach.

Seoul, South Korea to Kuta is an approximately 11-hour flight. You'll gain 1 hour traveling from Seoul to Kuta due to the time zone difference. Expect much hotter temperatures when traveling from Seoul in January; daily highs in Kuta reach 36°C and lows reach 28°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 25th (Fri) early enough to drive to Karangasem.

Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Gunung Kawi Sebatu Temple and Tenganan Ancient Village. You can drive from Kuta to Karangasem in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and taxi. January in Karangasem sees daily highs of 36°C and lows of 28°C at night. You will leave for home on the 5th (Tue).
