Reykjavik, the world's most northerly capital, effortlessly combines small-town charm with heaps of big city energy.
Visit Reykjavik Open Air Museum and Einar Jonsson Museum (Listasafn Einars Jonssonar) for their historical value. The Settlement Center and Cemetery Holavallagardur are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Venture out of the city with trips to Reykjadalur Hot Springs (in Hveragerdi) and Borgarnes (Aurora Borealis & Borgarnes Museum). There's still lots to do: head outdoors with Outdoor Activities, pause for some serene contemplation at Hallgrimskirkja, get engrossed in the history at National Museum of Iceland, and see the interesting displays at The Icelandic Punk Museum.

Toronto, Canada to Reykjavik is an approximately 9.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of ferry and flight; or do a combination of shuttle and flight. Often referred to as Iceland's second city, Akureyri offers an array of cultural attractions in a scenic setting.
Kick off your visit on the 27th (Sat): trot along with a tour on horseback and then race across the water with a speed boat tour.

You can drive from Akureyri to Reykjahlid in 1.5 hours. Another option is to take a bus. In June in Reykjahlid, expect temperatures between 15°C during the day and 7°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Mon) to allow time to travel to Hvolsvollur.

Hvolsvöllur is a small town in the south of Iceland about 106 km to the east of Reykjavík.It is situated in the inland swamps of Landeyjar, in the municipality of Rangárþing eystra and has, as of January 2015, 934 inhabitants.OverviewThe name of the town literally translates to "Hillfield". Start off your visit on the 30th (Tue): take in the dramatic scenery at Seljalandsfoss - Waterfall, then take in the dramatic scenery at Gluggafoss/Merkjarfoss, then take a pleasant ride with a tour on horseback, and finally get a new perspective on nature at Lava Centre.

Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Tue) so you can drive to Vik.

On the 1st (Wed), take in the spiritual surroundings of Vik Church, see the interesting displays at Skogar Museum, then take in the dramatic natural features at Sólheimajökulll, then explore the striking landscape at Mýrdalsjökull, and finally contemplate the long history of Rutshellir Cave. On your second day here, take in the dramatic natural features at Dyrhólaey, then take in the dramatic scenery at Skogafoss, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Reyniskirkja Church, and finally tour the pleasant surroundings at Black Sand Beach.
