The Museum and Study Center of Sport Doctor Melcior Colet (in Catalan, Museu i Centre d'Estudis de l'Esport Doctor Melcior Colet ) is a facility dedicated to the promotion and exhibition of the most prominent in the development of the history of the sport in Catalonia in recent centuries. It is based in an Art Nouveau house built in 1911 by Josep Puig i Cadafalch the Casa Pere Company, which is located in Buenos Aires street, 56, Barcelona .


In 1982, Dr. Melcior Colet i Torrabadella gave the building to Generalitat of Catalonia to transform it into a museum.


On 13 December 1991 it introduced the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Official Commemorative Medals.

  • In 1982 Dr. Colet donated to the Generalitat de Catalunya the farm where he had his doctor's office to operate a museum and a study centre dedicated to the world of sports. It Is located in the Eixample district. It Occupies an isolated house of modernist style projected in 1911 by Puig I Cadafalch. Currently The museum collection has several pieces and photographs with sporting themes, especially objects related to Catalan sport as: trophies of Ricardo Zamora, football Medals of the championships of Catalonia, the soccer ball signed by The players of the final of 1942 and regulations and paintings of the Spanish Gymnasium of 1862. It Also has exhibits that refer to the Olympics (torches and medals), as well as mascots and pieces from different Olympic athletes from Catalonia.
