Head to Zeedijk, one of Amsterdam's oldest streets, to get a sense of the city's transformation through the ages. Initially constructed as a protective dam, the site was an affluent promenade until the 17th century and the first street to have permanent lighting installed in 1544. After its wealthy families moved to houses built along the three main canals in the city center, the street became the center of cheap nightlife for visiting sailors. Cleaned up and rejuvenated over the past decades, this strip is now the heart of Amsterdam's Chinatown, filled with popular bars and Asian restaurants. The neighborhood also houses one of Europe's largest Buddhist temples, built in the traditional Chinese style. • After the hustle and bustle VD Stad FF quietly grab a terrace and good food on the seafront. Delicious in the sun enjoying the people and all that comes over and then to choose a eatable of the so many that they have to offer here.

  • It is a Chinatown in Amsterdam. Because the building is Dutch style, the atmosphere which seems to be Chinatown was not so much. If you look closely, Chinese signs are on.
