Westerkerk, Amsterdam

4.0
Westerkerk was one of the first built for Protestants in the Netherlands and remains the largest originally Protestant church in the country. Many of the current Protestant churches were originally Roman Catholic, and then were later converted during the Reformation in 1578. West Church was built from 1620 to 1631. Admire the Dutch Renaissance style and the 85 m (279 ft) tower, Westertoren, which is the tallest in Amsterdam. This church is also the site of Rembrandt's burial. Although the exact location is unknown, his remains are assumed to be along the northern wall. Located near the Anne Frank House, the church and its chiming bells were often mentioned in her diary. • Not happy. We really wanted to go on the tour and also club the tower. Renovations are fine to miss out on the church but it was card payment only for the tower. Not much point having euros exchanged to then have to use your card 🙄😐
  • Love the dancing buildings. And one is for sale! Only 1 950000.00 euros! A bargain to own a piece of a museum
