  • We visited here during our weekend in Amsterdam. This place was not what we expected. 5 euros and certainly not worth that. Took 5 minutes to walk through it.  more »
  • First disappointment: purchase of tickets on rounds - tickets. The museum needs a printed version of the tickets, which is impractical in a travel situation. The museum employee directed us to one of the two points of sale nearby. The two outlets in the neighbourhood told us that they did not have a printer and that we had to go to the central store more than a 20-minute walk away. This is really a ubuesque and unacceptable situation. We were able to print our tickets thanks to the kindness of a shopkeeper from the adjacent streets. The museum itself has a special atmosphere in which the exhibits are well staged. Cartels explain in French the use of the different parts.

  • Entry is relatively cheap, me and my buddy enjoyed our time going through this museum. It took us about 30 minutes and we enjoyed reading all the information panels and examining the different objects for torture. It's not the most amazing or strangest museum I have ever been to but this place doesn't claim to be either. It is a great little museum that we discovered while exploring Amsterdam.
  • Interesting and creepy place. Not busy at all which allowed us to look at mankinds worst side of creativity without feeling rushed at each piece. Would recommend if you're in the area.
