In het tijdpad van 1650 tot heden z... more »The Karthuizerhof was built in the period around 1650, carried out in a sober classicist architectural style, to a design by the city architect Daniel Sakharkar. In the timetable of 1650 to the present day, extensive renovation and restorations have been carried out and the Gebouwencomplext has now been transformed into homes for small households. On the rectangular inner courtyard, and within the fence, the so called "pale Fields", now turned into lawns with green and trees. You will also find 2 pump houses, each equipped with 2 water drains, where the water was provided to every resident in the past. In 1930, the houses were connected to the court by the water pipe and the Pomhuizen/installation was discharged. On the Karthuizerstraat the striking long façade line of this complex, with in the middle the gate which is the main entrance to the court, sees. Above the gate you will see the pediment or tympanum with a shield provided with text. At the Binnenhof you can see each alongside a pediment or tympanum, with the new coat of arms of Amsterdam to know the 3 Andreas crosses and the old weapon with the cog ship. The building complex is built on a part of the grounds of the former Karhuizerklooster, the Karthuizerhof can be found in the Karthuizerstraat in the Amsterdam people's Neighbourhood de Jordaan, although it is sober it is very worthwhile to visit and think Not to disturb the inhabitants.
