Ottima e vasta selezione di formaggi (non solo olandesi) molto gustosi. Oltre al classico gouda ne abbiamo provato un’altro con latte di capra. Entrambi buoni. Both good. Correct prices and wide choice make it an unmissable place for your cheese purchases in the city beyond the classic shops too touristy.
Stopped by De Kaaskamer (Kaas Cheese) on Runstraat recently and very much enjoyed an Old Amsterdam and Brie with truffle cheeses purchased here. Both were very high quality, flavourful and much enjoyed over the next few days for afternoon snacks in our hotel room. This is a serious cheese shop, one well worth popping in for a few minutes to see many local cheeses and to 'smell' the strong aroma within. Its a neat place to see as a tourist and why make a purchase or two if you plan to be in Amsterdam for a few days and have time to enjoy them. De Kaaskamer opening hours are 9-6pm (Tues - Fri), 9-5pm (Sat) and 12-5pm (Sun and Mon).
The best cheese shop/deli in Amsterdam. Here is a shop that sells cheese along with many other fantastic food, homemade pesto, fantastic Iberico ham and Salami, so many wonderful things, gastronomes find it and love it. There are of course many cheese shops in Amsterdam yet I feel they are more for tourist purchases, I believe this place to be a well established source for the best locally produced cheeses rather than mass produced tourist fodder :)
