  • For me, there was actually no visit planned here, because I can't really do anything with flowers. But my friend was thrilled, and started a big shopping. The market is not really big, but it really has a lot of choice. The road on which it is located is unfortunately not very wide and always heavily crowded with all the tourists. Also the ubiquitous marijuana smell/smoke becomes an ordeal here, due to the narrowness of the alley/street the smoke can not pull off and hangs like a memorial above the market, for me ill-conceived.

  • I visited Amsterdam in November 2018 and returned to my country with 40 euros for about 10 flower roots with onions and lumps on my return. Only one of the flowers I planted has blossomed. The others have rotted in the ground. The last surviving flower this year has rotted in the soil. Never take tulips or any other flower's onions and eggs. They sell garbage.

  • I loved the market, lots of seeds for any kind of flowers and plants, just perfect for someone who's into gardening! Of course also a good place to get all the touristy stuff. Our guide warned us though that the prices for all the cafes would be much higher here than in normal non-touristy places and recommended us to search for cafes a bit away from it.
  • It’s a typical tourist trap but still is a fun place to walk around. It’s puzzling why this place is called the ‘floating’ market because it is not the same thing as a floating market as in Bangkok, Thailand. There are lots of vendors selling prepackaged bulbs, silk flowers and souvenirs to take home for your loved ones.
