    Presently closed for access inside the fort, however still nice place for a stroll. Grounds are well maintained and nice historic site!  more »

    Really interesting learning about this fort and it’s history. There was a lovely gentleman upstairs in one of the building who was able to tell us a ton of history and really made it come alive. He...  more »

    Loved the quick last minute visit. Reasonably priced too. Do read the panels and brochure on the walk, this helps understanding with the time period of living 150 yrs ago on the coast. Large interior museum for young children too. Well stocked cafe with plenty of tables, could take a packed lunch too. Tour took about an hour to walk thru. Good family outing with no parking fees. 5 stars.

    We loved this place. There are demonstrations and this tents are great. The overnight stay was lovely and we could easily have stayed another day. The township is also rather pretty and there is a river walkway
